PLEA
I had my heart broken once. It was bad though...really bad. But as time always does, it healed me and showed me the beautiful things that can come from all the bad feels. This song was written all too easily. It poured out of me and was the first complete song I wrote. Here is the early demo of the song and the version that eventually made the Yellowcake EP (my old band). I was blown away with the instrumental - the guys completely captured the way I was feeling and the electric guitar solo at 2:51 is one of my favorite parts of the song.
Maybe you and I,
will one day,
find a way to satisfy,
this emptiness,
we left in,
one another.
Whose to say,
that today won’t,
bring the light,
that blinds,
the memory,
of each other.
But I’m still a part of you.
You’re still inside of me.
Can we let each other go for just a day?
The whispers in my ears,
only bring me tears,
remembering our,
sweet melody.
This is my plea.
Tell me where our story ends.
Does darkness fade the day again?
Are there more hello, goodbyes,
or nights where I just sit and cry.
So no more hesitating.
See I’m just tired of waiting,
for you.
Let’s put this in the past,
and say our goodbye at last.
But I’m still a part of you.
You’re still inside of me.
Can we let each other go for just a day?
The whispers in my ears,
only bring me tears,
remembering our,
sweet melody.
This is my plea.
